Tips

  • An outbreak is recorded from the place's own notice, in its own words.
  • The aseptic technique of a procedure is recorded on the visit, with the Aseptic technique record — add it from Forms → Library.

Outbreak notice — record and edit

An outbreak as the facility or the household declared it: where, what in their words, the day, and their instructions to visitors.

  • Recorded from their notice — Corella relays it to everyone with a visit there in the next week, and shows it on those visits.
  • The people told are told only that there is a notice; what was declared is on their visit, where they sign in to read it.

Declared over

The day the place declared the outbreak over.

Sharps or waste container — add and edit

A sharps container or clinical-waste bin: where it is, and the days it was opened, sealed and collected, with the contractor and the docket number.

  • A container is collected sealed: enter the day it was sealed before the day it was collected.

Outbreaks

Each outbreak a facility or a household has declared: what, since when, its instructions to visitors, and how many visits fall there in the next week.

  1. Press Record an outbreak: the facility (or the person whose household it is), what was declared, the day, and the instructions to visitors — as the notice says.
  2. Everyone with a visit there in the next week is told, and each of those visits shows the notice before anyone goes in.
  3. When the place declares it over, press Declared over and enter that day.
  • A facility is one of a payer's sites — add it under Payers first. A visit shows a facility's notice when its episode is at that site.

Sharps & clinical waste

Every sharps container and clinical-waste bin: where it is, and the days it was opened, sealed and collected, with the contractor and the docket number.

  1. Add a container the day it is opened. Enter the day it is sealed, then the day it is collected — by whom, and the docket number.
  • A container is collected sealed, so the sealed day comes first. One that is sealed or collected stays on the register; only one still in use, entered by mistake, can be removed.
