Care software, compared

17 Australian care platforms, side by side.

Rostering, care records, incidents, NDIS and Support at Home billing, AI, where the data lives and what it costs — for Corella and 16 other platforms Australian providers weigh up. Every fact about another product comes from that vendor’s own website, read on 29–30 September 2026, and links to the page it came from. Where another product is ahead, the table says so.

Checked 29–30 September 2026 · 17 platforms · each vendor’s own pages

What each mark means.

Stated on their own site (Corella: in the product)On a higher plan, a paid add-on, or with a limitNot in Corella — used only for our own productNot shown on their public pages on 29–30 September 2026 — not the same as “no”

A website is not a product. When a vendor’s pages don’t mention something, their product may still do it — ask them. We only mark what each vendor says publicly, and our own product as it is: where Corella doesn’t do something, the table says “no”.

  • Claiming straight from the software

By their own pages, ShiftCare (on Premium), FlowLogic, Brevity (on Enterprise) and Lumary (with a separately sold module) claim from the NDIA by API; Splose goes through HICAPS, and CareVision through LanternPay (HICAPS) as an add-on; AlayaCare and Civica Carelink state they submit NDIA claims from the platform. For Support at Home, AlayaCare, Visualcare and Brevity claim through Services Australia's API. Corella builds the NDIA's bulk payment file and you upload it in the portal — and it doesn't claim from Services Australia at all.

  • Native worker apps, some offline

Most of the other products publish native iOS and Android apps. ShiftCare's, AlayaCare's and Civica's CarelinkGo work offline, and Brevity, CareVision, Visualcare, CareMaster and The Lookout Way add apps for clients or families. Corella's worker screens are a web app that installs from the browser and its family portal is a web login — there's no App Store app, and a save needs signal.

  • More integrations, and public APIs

AlayaCare, Splose, Astalty, The Lookout Way and Visualcare publish API references; ShiftCare and Brevity offer API access on their top plans, and CareMaster, Civica Carelink and CareVision offer APIs to customers. SupportAbility names six accounting products, and eZaango names Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Sage plus four payroll products. Corella connects to Xero and sends payroll out as a CSV — and has no public API.

  • Award interpretation for pay

Lumary, FlowLogic, CareVision, AlayaCare, Astalty, eZaango and Civica Carelink say they work the SCHADS award out for pay; Visualcare does it through Pay Cat Connect, and CareMaster sells it as an add-on. ShiftCare runs 46 SCHADS rules as shifts are created or changed, on Premium. Corella's nine checks warn on the draft roster and never interpret the award for pay — your payroll system still does that.

  • Support at Home, end to end

AlayaCare covers all five Support at Home pathways, and it and Visualcare claim through Services Australia's API, each stating a Notice of Integration; Brevity claims through the API too. Brevity, Visualcare, CareMaster, Lumary and The Lookout Way produce monthly statements, and CareVision reconciles the payment statement. Corella holds the quarterly budgets, contributions and the 1 October change, and charges visits to the budget — no Services Australia claiming, no monthly statement.

  • CHSP, DVA and residential care

Brevity and CareVision report CHSP to the Data Exchange (DEX), and CareMaster sells DEX reporting as an add-on; CareVision also covers DVA, residential aged care and retirement living, and AlayaCare CHSP and DVA. In Corella, Home Care Package and CHSP work keeps its own invoices, but those programs are labels without a funding model, and there's no DEX reporting.

  • A cheaper or free start

RotaWiz has a free plan for up to five users and paid plans at $6 and $10 a user a month; ShiftCare's Basic plan is $8 a user billed annually; Brevity charges $6.49 a client a month with staff included. Corella is $19 per staff user with everything in it and a $149 monthly minimum — more per head than those entry plans, which keep some features for their higher tiers.

  • Security certifications

By their own statements: eZaango holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022; Astalty, CareMaster, SupportAbility, FlowLogic and Lumary hold ISO 27001, Brevity shows an ISO/IEC 27001 badge and Civica states ISO 27001 for its group; AlayaCare holds SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II and HITRUST i1, and The Lookout Way SOC 2 Type II. Corella holds no certification — it offers each provider its own instance and database, hosted in Sydney, with daily backups and point-in-time recovery.

  • A clinic's front desk

Splose is built for allied-health clinics: online booking, a waitlist, SMS reminders, telehealth links, card and direct-debit payments, and Medicare, DVA and health-fund claiming. Corella has episodes of care, payers and rate cards, but no allied-health preset and none of that front desk.

  • Medication management

AlayaCare has a medication database with interaction and contraindication checks. Corella's is eMAR-lite: a medicine list, and given, refused or missed recorded on the shift — no rounds, due doses or checks.

And where Corella is different

What you get here, and its limits.

  • Everything in one price

$19 per staff user a month with every module — no tiers, so nothing safety-critical waits for a higher plan, and no AI add-on.

The limit: A $149 monthly minimum, about eight staff seats' worth; the connected website is extra.

    How it works
  • Your own instance, hosted in Sydney

Each provider gets its own instance and database — health data never shares a database with another organisation.

The limit: When the AI features are on, the text they read goes to our AI provider in the United States; speech is transcribed in the EU.

    How it works
  • Family logins free

The family portal shows the plan budget, the next four weeks of visits and, where you're the plan manager, invoices to approve — and its logins never count as seats.

The limit: Set up with you, one person per login; no messages, bookings or documents in it.

    How it works
  • Award checks while the roster is a draft

Nine SCHADS checks run over the week as you build it and explain each warning in plain words; every threshold is yours to set.

The limit: They warn and never block, and they don't interpret the award for pay.

    How it works
  • Plan management and coordination in the same product

Provider invoices in, plan-manager claim batches out, participants approving in the portal — and coordinators' billable time, beside the rostering and care records.

The limit: One management type per participant; a plan that mixes them across categories can't be split.

    How it works
  • One product across the sectors

NDIS, aged care, community nursing and allied health on the same code, each organisation using its own word for the people it supports.

The limit: No allied-health preset, and Support at Home stops short of Services Australia claiming and the monthly statement.

Fair questions

Straight answers.

Two products in detail, row by row: Corella vs ShiftCare and Corella vs Brevity.

What is the best NDIS and care management software in Australia?
There isn't one best product for every provider, and we don't rank them. On their own pages, some lead on claiming straight from the software (ShiftCare, FlowLogic, Brevity, Splose, AlayaCare), some on Support at Home (AlayaCare, Visualcare, Brevity), some on award interpretation for pay (Lumary, FlowLogic, CareVision), one on a free start (RotaWiz) and one on allied-health clinic tools (Splose). Corella's case is one price with everything in it, each provider's own instance in Sydney, and plan management and coordination beside rostering and care. Shortlist on the capabilities you can't do without, then see two or three demos.
Which care software claims directly from the NDIA?
By their own pages: ShiftCare claims directly from the NDIA on its Premium plan, FlowLogic through a PRODA B2B device, Brevity through the NDIS API on its Enterprise plan and Lumary with a separately sold module; Splose claims through HICAPS, and CareVision through LanternPay (HICAPS) as an add-on; AlayaCare submits NDIA claims from its platform, and Civica Carelink states an API integration with the NDIA. CareMaster, Visualcare, SupportAbility, Astalty, The Lookout Way and Vertex360 describe the NDIA's bulk payment request file, and so does Corella — you upload it through the provider portal.
Which products claim Support at Home from Services Australia?
By their own pages: AlayaCare and Visualcare claim through Services Australia's API and state their Notice of Integration, and Brevity claims through the API too; The Lookout Way syncs budgets and contributions with it and has announced API claiming; CareMaster syncs budgets and uploads claims as a file; Lumary sells an Aged Care API Module; CareVision and FlowLogic prepare claims for the provider portal; ShiftCare offers it through its QuickClaim add-on. Corella holds Support at Home budgets by quarter, contributions and the 1 October 2026 category change and charges each visit to the budget, but it doesn't claim from Services Australia and doesn't produce the monthly statement.
Which care software has a family or participant portal?
By their own pages: AlayaCare's family portal is on every tier; Brevity, CareVision, Visualcare, CareMaster and The Lookout Way have client or family apps; ShiftCare's Family Portal is on its Premium plan; eZaango sells participant logins as an add-on and RotaWiz a client app at $3 a client a month; FlowLogic lists a participant portal for funding status, and Lumary offers one through a partner. Corella's family portal is included and its logins are free. We didn't find one on the pages of Splose, Astalty, Civica Carelink, SupportAbility or Vertex360.
Where does each product keep your data?
Corella gives each provider its own instance and database in Sydney. By their own statements, ShiftCare, Brevity, eZaango and Astalty host on AWS in Sydney, CareVision on AWS in Melbourne and Sydney, FlowLogic and Splose on AWS in Australia, SupportAbility and Visualcare in Sydney, and CareMaster and The Lookout Way in Australia; RotaWiz's servers are in Australia with disaster recovery that may be overseas; AlayaCare's data is in Australia with support staff able to access it from Canada; Vertex360 names AWS without a region and says data may be processed outside Australia; Lumary and Civica Carelink don't say where. Where AI is switched on, check where the text goes — Corella's goes to its AI provider in the United States.
Does Corella have a mobile app?
Corella's worker screens are a web app that installs from the browser on any phone — there's no App Store or Google Play app, and a save needs signal. Most of the other products here publish native apps, and ShiftCare's, AlayaCare's and Civica's work offline.
Is Corella the cheapest option?
No. RotaWiz has a free plan for up to five users, and several entry plans cost less per user than Corella's $19 per staff user a month with everything included and a $149 monthly minimum — the difference is what's inside the number, since those plans often put invoicing, incidents or award rules on a higher tier. Every published price we found is on our pricing comparison, with worked examples for three sizes of provider.
How was this comparison made, and how current is it?
Each vendor's own website — product, industry, integration, pricing and security pages, and public help articles where they settled a question — was read on 29 or 30 September 2026, with nothing signed up for. Every cell links to the page it came from. Where a vendor's pages don't mention something we say so, which isn't the same as the product lacking it. If something here has changed, tell us and we'll correct it within a week.

How this page was made

Every page we read, listed.

On 29–30 September 2026, each vendor’s own website — product, industry, integration, pricing and security pages, and public help articles where they settle a question — was read in a browser as a visitor sees it, with nothing signed up for and no form filled in. Review sites, directories and articles about a product weren’t used for any fact. The products are the platforms that come up when Australian providers search for NDIS, aged-care and home-care software, plus the ones they most often name beside Corella.
