Step by step

  1. Teams → Areas groups the people you support by town or district: an area is a name and the postcodes it covers, and everyone already on file falls into one by their postcode.

On this screen

Area — add and edit

A town or district your practice works in: its name, and the postcodes it covers.

  • A postcode belongs to one area — a second area that lists it is refused, naming the first.

Clinical competency — add and edit

A clinical skill your people get assessed on — complex wound management, catheter care, a syringe driver. Sign-offs against it are recorded on each staff member's record.

  • A current sign-off counts as holding a skill a service asks for, which moves that person UP the job-board ranking.
  • Names have to be unique.
  • A skill you have stopped assessing still has to explain the sign-offs already recorded against it, so retiring takes it out of the pickers and leaves the register readable.

Service — new and edit

A service you deliver, what it charges, and how its time is billed.

  • A longer visit is still rostered, still worked and still invoiced — the schedule and the invoice run simply tell you it ran past what the fee covers.
  • Minimum billable time and Billed in steps of DO change what is charged. A shorter visit bills the minimum, and time above it rounds UP to the next step: a 1h 35m visit with a 1h minimum in 15-minute steps bills as 1h 45m.
  • Both are blank on every service unless you set them, and blank means exact time.

Pay group — new and edit

A set of pay rates staff are paid against.

  • This is somebody's wages.
  • "Engaged as shiftworkers" (SCHADS groups only) pays an afternoon or night shift's rate on the whole shift instead of by the clock — tick it only for staff you told in writing.

Allowance — new and edit

An allowance that can be attached to a shift or held permanently by a person.

Add a classification budget

A Support at Home classification and its quarterly budget.

Add an AT-HM tier cap

The most a grant at a tier can be, for one of the two schemes — assistive technology or home modifications — from a date.

  • A new start date closes that tier's previous cap at that date; a grant keeps the cap that was in force when it began.
  • Only high-tier home modifications carry a lifetime cap, so the lifetime tick appears for that tier alone.

Compliance requirement — new and edit

A document staff must hold: its name, which staff roles it applies to (one or more), whether it is mandatory for rostering, and whether it tracks an expiry date.

  • Tick every role whose people hold it. The same people can sign in on different roles — at a practice where the owner and the clinical lead also see clients, all three hold the same registrations — so name each of those roles.
  • When somebody is put on a visit, the roster checks the carers' requirements whatever role they sign in on, as well as the requirements for their own role.

Add public holiday

A date that attracts holiday rates.

  • A missing holiday is a quiet underpayment — the roster prices that day as ordinary.

Contribution category

How a service maps to a Support at Home contribution category.

Team — new and edit

A team holds staff and the clients they work with, with a colour for the roster and an optional team leader.

  • A team reads either way — a location or crew with its caseload, or one client with the people who support them. Both are fine; the leader means “who runs this” in the first case and “who leads this person’s support” in the second.

Organisation

Your organisation's name, ABN, address and invoicing defaults. The words the product uses for the people you support and your staff roles are on Roster display.

  • The default GST treatment applies to NEW services, consumables, transport and expense lines.
  • A visit that crosses a price band — a 3pm–9pm visit crossing the 8pm evening boundary — is split by default: five hours at the day rate, one at the evening rate. The other two settings charge the whole visit at one rate.
  • "Finishes on" and "highest rate" are the same answer for an evening visit and different ones for an early morning. A 5am–10am visit finishes on the day rate but touched the dearer night rate, so read the two before choosing.

Branding

Your logo and colours, as they appear in the app and on documents you send out.

Settings · tab

Modules

Which parts of the product your organisation runs. Switching one off hides it everywhere.

  • AI assistance also switches on the help assistant: the Ask about Corella box at the top of this help panel. A question typed there goes to Corella’s AI service (the line under the box says where it runs) with full names, phone numbers, emails and other long numbers taken out first, and the assistant answers only from this guide.

Services & price book

The services you deliver, what each one charges, and how long its fee covers.

  1. Support category and Code are what the work is claimed against. Both now show on the shift drawer when the service is picked, so you can see them while you book rather than two screens away.
  2. Max claimable time says how long the fee covers, in minutes.
  3. The coloured circle beside a service's name is its colour on the roster — click it and pick. It saves as soon as you choose and the board changes with it, so colouring a whole price book is one pass down this page rather than one editor at a time.
  • A longer visit is still rostered, still worked and still invoiced in full — the schedule and the invoice run simply say it ran past what the fee covers, so you decide how to claim the extra.
  • A new service opens on your organisation's default GST treatment (Settings → Organisation). Each service keeps its own once created.

Settings · tab

Pay groups

The pay rates staff are paid against.

  • A pay group is somebody's wages.
  • A band left blank — evening, night, Saturday, Sunday or public holiday — is paid at the weekday rate, and the group says so beside it.
  • Tick "engaged as shiftworkers" on a SCHADS group only for staff you told in writing that they are shiftworkers.

Settings · tab

NDIS prices

Check your price book against the NDIS Pricing Schedule, and apply an update.

  1. Read the audit first — over cap, under cap, stale or unknown items.
  2. Preview a change before applying it.

Settings · tab

Shift margins

Whether coordinators can see what a shift costs and earns.

  • Administrators and finance always can.

Settings · tab

Teams

How you group staff and the clients they work with — for the roster, for reporting, and for naming a team leader.

  • Each team can have a leader. Once one is set, that person’s name appears on the records of every client in the team, and a “team leader” filter appears on the Clients list so you can pull up everybody one person leads.
  • A team can also have a DSL, set on the same row and behaving exactly like the leader: the name appears on the clients in that team, on the shift assignment panel when you are choosing who works, and as a “DSL” filter on the Clients list.
  • The leader and the DSL must both be a member of staff.
  • Linking puts the team's staff first in the staff list when you roster that client.
  • This tab also decides whether a carer sees the client's own phone number on their shift screen. Switch it to the team leader instead and the number is replaced by the leader's name and number — but set your leaders first, or the card will simply say to call the office.

Public holidays

The dates that attract holiday rates in your state.

  1. Your state's public holidays are built in. The box at the top shows this year (the days still to come), next year and the year after, and how many of each are in your list.
  2. Load the missing days with one press, on the button beside the year; the list under it shows which days they are.
  3. Use Holiday to add a day by hand: a regional holiday such as a show day or a local cup day, or a day your award or agreement swaps in.
  • A missing holiday is a quiet underpayment — the roster will price that day as ordinary.
  • Holidays follow your organisation's state (Settings → Organisation). Change the state and the other state's days stop counting.

Measures over time

Choose which questions on your own forms are plotted as a number against their dates on a client's clinical record.

  1. Pick a form question, give it a name for the chart and a unit.
  2. The chart then appears on that person's clinical record — Clinical charts, pick the person, then Open full record; or the Clinical record button on their profile — once somebody has submitted the form.
  • Corella records the score.
  • Free-text questions can be followed too. That is deliberate: most services record a calculated score in a text box.

Settings · tab

HR access

Name the people who are HR. An HR case is then hidden from everyone but them and the person the case is about.

  1. Tick the people who do HR here, then save. Until you name somebody, administrators can open HR cases.
  2. On a case itself, HR can give one named person access to that one case.
  • Naming even one person here stops administrators from reading confidential cases. That is the point, but check the right people are on the list before you save.

Settings · tab

Attendance rules

Clock-on rules, tolerances, what happens to an unclosed shift — and Note sections: the named sections a kind of note must have before it can be saved.

  • Closing a sleepover automatically only ever closes one somebody actually clocked ON to.
  • Pay period: the day one of your pay periods began, and whether pay runs cover a week or a fortnight. Its weekday starts your pay week — Payroll then offers your last whole pay period, Timesheets shows a pay week at a time, and the award check counts weekly overtime over it. Left empty, weeks run Monday to Sunday as before. The roster itself still shows Monday to Sunday.
  • Note sections are off until you save some.
  • Require a progress note before clock-off holds back a carer's own clock-off in the app.
  • Headings a progress note should include: Check my note and Care Signals point out a note that is missing one.
  • Charts on the shift (where charts are kept): on by default. While clocked on, a carer records the charts you keep for the person on their shift from their phone; a chart is offered once the office has recorded its first entry for that person. Switch it off and only the office records charts.

Settings · tab

Roster display

How the board looks — time increments, text size, photos, colours, and whether office staff appear on it — the travel time allowed after each visit, plus two clock behaviours: closing unfinished sleepovers, and whether Need to know has to be acknowledged at clock-on. It is also where you set the words the product uses for the people you support, your staff roles and an episode of care.

  • Travel time after each visit is for planning only.
  • First name in carers' calendars: a carer can put their own shifts into Google Calendar, Outlook or their phone from their profile, which copies each shift onto Google's or Microsoft's servers.

Settings · tab

Roles

Build your own roles on top of the four built-in levels, choosing area by area how far each reaches.

  • Names are set on one screen and access on another, deliberately.

Communications

Email and SMS — sender identity, templates and whether sending is live.

  • Sending stays off until your plan enables it. Choices you make here are saved and take effect the moment it is switched on.

Voice, meetings & the visit scribe

Voice dictation, meeting recording and the visit scribe, and the privacy wording that goes with them.

  1. Generate the privacy-policy and service-agreement wording from here rather than drafting it.
  2. Until your organisation saves these settings they are Corella's defaults, and the page says so. They become your own the moment dictation, meeting summaries or the visit scribe is switched on in Modules, or when you press Save here — and after that only this page changes them.
  3. The visit scribe (Modules) lets a carer record a visit and get the progress note drafted into your own note headings to read, fix and save.
  • Where the audio is transcribed is on Settings → Voice & meetings, with wording for your own documents when it is a cross-border disclosure.
  • A meeting naming a client needs their signed consent first; so does a recorded visit, on wording that names note drafting — a client who signed before 21 September 2026 is asked once more before the first visit is recorded.
  • The draft is words for a person to check and correct.

Documents

The category list offered when a document is filed, and the documents expected for each program type.

  1. Put your own categories in, one per line — a behaviour management plan, an ACAT assessment, whatever you actually file.
  2. Leave the list empty to use the built-in words instead.
  • Changing this list changes what the picker OFFERS.
  • The screen tells you which categories are already in use but missing from your list.

Connect Xero so invoices flow through to it.

  • Connecting maps your accounts once.

Payments

Card and terminal payments, and the plan-manager portal.

  1. Plan-manager portal: switch it on, then send your plan managers the address the card shows.
  • A plan manager sees only the plan-managed invoices you have issued for the clients whose plans they manage today, from the periods they managed them: what was billed, what was paid and what is still owed.
  • Switching the portal off closes it straight away.

Website

Your website's keys and forms: what it is allowed to pull from here, and which of its forms may write in.

  1. Mint an API key and list the origins your website will call from.
  2. To have your website's feedback form send complaints, feedback and compliments into your Complaints register, mint a feedback key under Feedback and complaints from your website and give it to whoever runs your website.
  3. Who your website shows, and which programs, are under Website, then Team and Programs, beside the rest of your website.
  4. Email into Corella shows your practice's own Corella email address once it is set up. Email sent to it becomes a lead in Intake & CRM.
  • Revoking the API key stops your website reading anything from here at once — staff, programs, news, careers and their photos — and stops any form still using it. Referral intake, and any form with a key of its own, keep working until you revoke those keys too. Photos already fetched can stay in caches for up to a day.

Your data

A copy of everything in your Corella — your clients and their notes, documents and files, invoices, contacts, staff and every other record — and how long Corella keeps your records.

  1. Press Make a copy. The copy is made in the background; you are told when it is ready, and it is listed here.
  2. Download each zip. The first holds your records as spreadsheets and a read-me that explains the rest; the others hold your files, each in a folder for the person it belongs to.
  3. Keep the zips somewhere safe. Each copy can be downloaded for 7 days, then it is deleted from Corella.
  • A copy holds every record your practice keeps, so only your administrators can make or download one, and every administrator is emailed when one is asked for.
  • You can make a copy at any time, including while your subscription is read-only or paused. A practice can make three copies a day, one at a time.

Security

Platform access — every Corella support login, what it is for, when it last signed in, and everything it has done.

  1. Read the panel. It names each support account and says in one sentence why it exists.
  2. Check the last sign-in date if you want to know whether we have been in recently.
  3. Follow “Read everything it has done” for the full audit log of that account — every action, with a date.
  • This is the only screen that lists our support account.
  • The panel is read-only on purpose.
  • The allied-health portal is off until you switch it on. Your providers then sign in with a code — by text to the mobile on their Allied health record when your practice's texts are on (each code is one of your texts), otherwise by email — see only the clients you have put them on, with where to visit and what they need to know, write their notes there, and send you their documents to check. Switching it off closes it straight away, for everyone.

This is the help Corella shows on this screen, word for word, written in its default words: client and carer.
