File notes

Dated notes of discussions and meetings about staff and clients, kept as evidence — who was there, what was said or agreed, and who wrote it.

Updated 15 October 2026Corella’s help for this screen, word for word

Access:
File notes at Manage, set by role in Settings → Roles

Step by step

  1. Add a file note: who it is about (a staff member, a client, or both), the date and time it happened, its kind, who was there, and what was said or agreed.
  2. Corella records who wrote the note and when, and shows both on every note.
  3. To put something right, open the note and choose Add a correction. The note stays as it was written; the correction sits beneath it with its own name and time.
  4. A staff member's page and a client's page each have a File notes button that opens their notes here. Print gives one note, or a person's whole file, ready to save as a PDF.

Tips

  • Coordinators add file notes and see the ones they wrote; administrators read every note. Your administrators can change who does which in Settings, then Roles, under File notes.
  • An administrator can archive one with a reason; it stays readable under Show archived.
  • Kinds… sets the practice's own list of kinds. A note already saved keeps the kind it was written with.
