Step by step
- Your shift, step by step — under the shift's own card — lists what this shift asks of you in the order a visit goes: what is done, what is next, and what is marked must (clock-off waits for those). Each step takes you to the part of the screen where it is done.
- Clock on when you arrive and off when you leave.
- If anything is recorded under Need to know for the client — allergies, medical, dietary, mobility, communication, behaviour support, access — it is shown when you clock on and you confirm you have read it. The same information stays on this screen for the rest of the shift.
- Work through the tasks; mandatory ones must be ticked before the shift can be completed.
- Write the progress note before you finish, while it is fresh.
- If the office has put a company vehicle on your shift, the Travel card names it: read its odometer when you take it and when you finish with it, and press Save each time — with a photo of the odometer when your practice asks for one. The readings go into the vehicle's log; the kilometres you drove are still yours to record above them.
- If the client takes their tablets from a Webster pack, each time of the pack is listed above their medicines with what is packed in it — the time this visit is most likely for first. Record the time once (Given, Refused or Missed) and an entry is written for every medicine packed then. Once something is recorded, Record another is needed before a second entry.
- Each medicine says what it is for, where the office has recorded it. A medicine given as a course is listed on the days of its course.
- After you give an as-needed (PRN) medicine, Add follow-up records how it went, in your words — on the visit, until a day after it ends. Each dose takes one follow-up.
- On a visit with more than one client, your note is saved to each of their records — the screen names them above the note.
- If your organisation has AI assistance on, a Check my note button sits under the note.
- You can come back to your own note later: it is listed under Your notes on this visit with an Edit button, until your organisation makes notes final.
- If the office sends a form back, you are told straight away with their reason, and it is listed under Forms as Sent back. Fix and resubmit opens it with your answers already filled in.
- The note you write here is attached to this shift and lands on the client's record — it is the same note the office reads under Notes, and there is nowhere else to put it.
- If the shift carries more than one type of support — say travel, then personal care — a panel near the top lists each part with how long it ran.
- On a shift where somebody is with you to be trained, a Buddy shift panel says so.
- On a sleepover, a Sleepover card asks how many minutes you were awake or disturbed to do work in the night — only that time, because the sleepover allowance still covers the night.
- If the office keeps charts for the client — bowel, food and fluid, weight and the like — a Charts list sits on their card. While you are clocked on, press Record beside a chart, fill it in and choose when: now, or a few minutes ago back to when you clocked on. It is saved in your name on this shift, and the office sees it beside its own. After you clock off, ask the office to record it.
Tips
- Clocked times are what the office approves for pay — if a time is wrong, say so rather than editing around it.
- Whether you see the client's own phone number here is your organisation's choice. Where it is switched off you see their team leader instead, also tappable — so there is always somebody to ring. Emergency contacts are shown either way.
- The buddy shift form stays on screen after you send it, marked as filed — that is how you can tell it went in rather than wondering and sending a second one.
- If the office moves the visit's time, you are asked to confirm again.
On this screen
Record a chart
Record one entry on a chart the office keeps for the person on your shift — and when it happened.
- Only while you are clocked on, and only back to when you clocked on. After you clock off, the office records it.
- It is saved in your name, on this shift, beside the office's own entries.
This is the help Corella shows on this screen, word for word, written in its default words: client and carer.
