Messages

Conversations between your own staff — one to one, a group, or attached to somebody's record.

Updated 15 October 2026Corella’s help for this screen, word for word

Access:
Messages and broadcasts at Do the work, set by role in Settings → Roles

Step by step

  1. Start a conversation, pick who is in it, and write.
  2. A conversation on a record is started from that person's Messages tab and stays there.
  3. Search finds a word in any conversation you can already see.
  4. The office can export what it is looking at to a spreadsheet — the whole list, or just the results of a search.

Tips

  • The number on the speech-bubble icon counts conversations you are IN with something said since you last opened them.
  • The panel's box filters the conversations already listed in it. The search that reads every message you can see is on this screen.
  • Who can see what is set by your organisation in Settings → Teams. Out of the box, you see only the conversations somebody has put you in.
  • The row stays, marked withdrawn, with who did it — because this is meant to stand up to an audit.
  • Your organisation can archive quiet conversations automatically after a set number of days.

New conversation

Start a conversation with one person or several. Pick the people, give it a subject if it helps, and write.

File to record

Copy one message onto the client's record — as a progress note, or as a task on their care plan. The message stays in the conversation.

  • It only appears on a conversation that is already on somebody's record.
  • A task on the care plan is a standing instruction that gets copied onto future shifts — right for something to be done every visit, wrong for a one-off errand.
  • Filing from an office-only conversation ticks Office only on the note by default.
  • The entry names who wrote the message, when, and who filed it.

This is the help Corella shows on this screen, word for word, written in its default words: client and carer.
